Cognitive Systems

Cognitive Systems Warsaw is a spontaneously formed group of people fascinated by how communication is supported by individual cognition and, in turn, gives rise to novel forms of cognition - both individual and distributed.

We tackle these problems on several levels:

  • purely computational level, where machine learning algorithms are tested in multiagent architectures with communication, with a goal of arriving at qualitatively novel forms of optimalization of algorithms; [More details]
  • cognitive and behavioral level, where:
    • the emergence of perceptually grounded categories constrained by language is studies in human participants and modeled using the multiagent architectures mentioned above;
    • communicative behaviours are described in terms of emergent dynamics

The two levels meet in the third goal which is to understand, describe and prescribe effective human-machine coordination.
